The petrified forest at Hubbard Basin dig site in Nevada arguably has yielded some of the world’s most beautiful petrified wood specimens. This particular log is among the best from this location. The logs from Hubbard Basin have a wide range of colors but blue is probably the most desired. Is highly agatized with pockets of well defined quartz crystals throughout. This slab was number 19 cut from the log which was 20 inches in length and weighed 150 pounds. He had me cut and polish the log on a share basis. My share has been in my collection until recently when I have decided to slowly sell off the specimens. I tried to talk my friend out of cutting the log up as it was truly a thing of beauty. He took the stand that it was better to share the fossil with multiple people. Maybe he was right. During the cutting of the slabs I collected a pictorial history showing each progressive slab that the log yielded. A couple of these photos are in this ad. The log yielded 21 crack free perfectly beautiful slabs. What a joy it was to polish these remarkable rock slabs. 11 x 10 x 5/8 inches (28 x 25.4 x 1.6 cm).
