Petrified WOOD LIMB CASTS from Sunnyside, Washington State with four Natural as they came out of the ground and one with a polished end that is perfect. All these specimens came from Yakima Canyon near Sunnyside, WA during the 1960’s. Now all these areas are private property and closed to prospectors. Large solid Petrified WOOD LIMB CAST with black Chalcedony replacement that is likely caused by organic carbons in surrounding soils which is a rare occurrence. The Jet Black is Beautiful! One End has superb Polishing and no noticeable damage on Face. Sides have some mass missing but that just gives the specimen a more Natural look! Gorgeous piece for any collection and sets very well for display. Measures about 6 in x 2.25 in x 1.75 inches and weighs 1 pound 4.6 ounces. Source is Sunnyside, WA State. High Quality and Completely Natural segment of a Petrified WOOD LIMB CAST. Lines of BARK and a KNOT AREA are well presented. Both ends are broken from from a larger branch. One side has remarkable impressions of the wood grains that are forever replaced! Both ends have broken from longer branch and 99% of time this is what you find in segments because the Earth crust and soils are always moving or vibrating to some degree. Measures about 5.5 in x 1.5 in x1.25 inches and weighs 9.5 ounces. RARE piece of black CHALCEDONY replacement in Petrified WOOD LIMB CAST that is completely Natural as dug out of the ground. Very solid specimen that will either stand up or lay flat for display. Measures about 3.25 in x 1.25 in x 1 3/8 inches and weighs 6.7 ounces.
