This is a very rare and super cool natural matrix display which exhibits two partial fossil Spruce Cones sometime referred to as fossil Pinecones with a piece of petrified wood showing on the back which was hand dug in the Virgin Valley of Nevada. This Mid Miocene fossil specimen was hand dug and carved out of the matrix and then stabilized in place on the matrix just as it was found and stands nicely for display. This spruce cone display in matrix measures 5.60 inches long by 2.34 inches wide by 3.72 inches high. The largest Spruce cone measures 4.19 inches long. This Virgin Valley Spruce cone and wood in matrix specimen would be an excellent addition to any rock and mineral collection.
