This is a rather unique piece of petrified wood, found near Telluride, Colorado. This piece features a knot as well as a couple of “eyes” found in wood, with many crystalline structures throughout, many protruding to the visible surface. What appear to be age rings are visible as well, with one side which appeared to be the bark side as it features rather unique, interesting structuring. Some spots look to possibly be amber with a deep red color, though we cannot say for sure. This specimen weighs approximately 10.4 pounds, and measures roughly 7×8 1/2×5 inches, with the overall shape being that of a triangle section. This gorgeous piece would look excellent on display in any rockhound’s collection.
