This is a natural 14 million year old petrified wood preserved tree limb tree piece specimen which was collected from Virgin Valley, Nevada and has one end cut and polished to show the growth patterns. This specimen is stable but the outer layer is more fragile then most types of petrified wood; the outer striations are a tad sensitive. This wood specimen took an amazing polish to the face. This Virgin Valley wood specimen is very rare since it is naturally stable (has not been treated to stabilize it) and was able to take a beautiful polish. Most petrified wood specimens from this location tend to be lighter weight, less dense, very fragile and are not able to take a good polish. This petrified wood specimen measures 6.49 inches long at the longest point by 4.35 inches wide and weighs 5 pounds and 5 ounces.
