One of the best petrified wood limbs from the McDermitt, Oregon site at the “Airport”. This limb was dug about 30 years ago by a close friend. He said that he found it about 4 feet under the surface in a trench he worked for weeks. It should be in a museum or a high-end collection. I will reluctantly sell it if I get my price. In addition to beautifully colored and marked agate petrification, the limb has an enormous amount of appeal not only from the large size but to the overall character of the fossil. It has several knots and apparently the limb dried out and split before being buried by the volcanic ash. The split starts at the polished face and runs the entire length of the limb beautifully preserved in stone. Face Dimensions: 3 inch dia. Length: full 24 inches.
