There are small natural cavities strategically placed that look like eyes (in the horizontal position) and a plethora of growth lines, some with fissures filled with blue-gray agate and sparkling crystals, all encased in beautiful perfect bark. They weigh 13.8 pounds, are 13 wide, 9 1/2 high and 1 3/4 thick standing vertically or 19 1/2 wide 6 1/2 high and 1 3/4 thick standing horizontally. This set was taken from a tree that lived, died and petrified millions of years ago. The front is polished to a mirror finish, and the bottom and sides are felted to protect your bookshelf.
