This is a super colorful, extremely well agatized, near full round petrified Peanut (Teredo) wood “Arucaria” section out of the Cretaceous period 115 million years, from Gascoyne, Western Australia. Featuring an unbelievable presentation of colorful, deep and glassy agatization. This agate preservation is so good it has a slight chatoyance seen in the rays when viewed in the sun. All this with the vibrant color of Shipworm borings or “Peanuts”, and the amazing brecciated portions throughout. Interestingly some of the brecciated areas have been agatized and others showing a contrasting sandstone(ish) preservation. It has a wonderful, highly polished, mirror shine on the front. The unique preservation, combination and placement of colors in this piece ensures that it make a great addition to any fossil or mineral collection. This endcut specimen will display excellent sitting upright on a stand and shine under some lighting.
