SiS GORGEOUS BLUE Hubbard Basin Petrified Wood Bookends BREATHTAKING FOSSIL
This is a VERY COLORFUL set of bookends suitable for a mantle or very nicely decorated office or library! This is a very rare find from one of the most famous and prized of all petrified wood collecting spots – it’s actually a fossil gem tree with a gloriously preserved conifer forever frozen in deep, rich blue colored agate! Shades in this one include dark night sky blue and lighter shades up to almost white. One of the prettiest we’ve done! It’s preserved in the most amazing and unusual combination of colors with very rich dark blue, white, gold and black accents. This is a unique type of petrified wood I’ve only seen in this forest. The color in this ancient fossil gemstone is deeper and richer than I think the photo manages to capture. Truly beautiful and 100% the work of mother nature with only a little modest help from our shop!! These bookends are as functional as they are beautiful and you’re going to love the colors and the mirror like finish when you see them in person! One of the most incredibly colored petrified wood deposits in the world is in Nevada in a remote chunk of desert called Hubbard Basin. We’ve obtained some exceptional pieces from collections that originated near this site over the last few years and I’ve recently prepared some choice ones. This is one of my favorite materials to use in bookends as it is so richly colored and every set is completely different from the last. This wood is unmatched by any other in the world. The colors are unmistakable with blue, red, gold, black, white and other shades all preserving the rings and knots of an ancient spruce forest. The agate is so superb in these rare petrified logs that the polish comes out looking wet to the touch when prepared properly! In this fabulous set the wood grain is delicately preserved and visible to the naked eye in throughout each bookend! The color spectrum is amazing – it covers most of the shades you’ll see at Hubbard Basin in one set of bookends! We select only the largest and showiest pieces of petrified wood to cut into bookends. These pieces are carefully cut in our shop so that you end up with a perfectly matched pair, one agate piece is the mirror image of the other. Of course, there are plenty of differences in the two halves, but the photo should let you appreciate how well we do this. The bookends sit perfectly upright and are completely square to one another. They are felted on both the sides and bottom to protect the books and the shelf. We make sure they are 100%25 functional on top of being beautiful! Of course, these agates proudly show the perfect polish that the Sticks-in-Stones rockshop has dedicated itself to. The finish looks poured on – but there’s nothing there except rock! This is a a large sized set. Each half measures about 5 3/4″ tall & 3 1/2″ wide across the polished face. They’re cut about 1 3/4 thick. Weight for this set is about 5.42 lbs. Which makes these bookends suitable for novels up to text books. The item “SiS GORGEOUS BLUE Hubbard Basin Petrified Wood Bookends BREATHTAKING FOSSIL” is in sale since Monday, November 22, 2021.
