Antique Heavy Large Round Petrified Wood Slab 16 Dia. 2.5″ to 4″ Thick. This was in my family for generations. I have decided to sell it because of down-sizing. My family originally was from Germany, but I can’t imagine this heavy rock could have been transported from there. Minnesota is where my Grandfather ended up – in a small town, as a preacher, and I have to believe that is where this is from – but I could be wrong – I never really found out. Could be from Germany. Colors are more in the blue-grey, so I would say it is not Arizona petrified wood. 4 inches thick on one side down to about 2-1/2 inches thick. It measures about 16.5 inches in diameter – pretty much the same all around. This is an extrordinary specimen for a piece of art in your home. Probably took “zillions” of years to form. The piece is very very heavy – my husband and I, in our younger years could barely lift it together. I can’t weigh it, so can’t give you the weight. Probably 50 pounds or so? From a Non-Smoking Home.
