I try to use “Museum Grade” very sparingly, but in this case I think it applies! Incredible round of petrified conifer wood from that classic location, the McDermitt petrified forest, straddling the Oregon-Nevada border. In particular, the “algae bed” dig. This is by far the largest round of algae wood that I have ever seen! The algae looks like plume agate, or feathers! It comes out of one of the finest collections of petrified wood in the Northwest! Perfect, liquid, glassy, mirror polish. Preservation is perfect, and is wonderful under the microscope. Beautiful agate in shades of green, brown, red, and white. 13 x 9 1/4 x 3/8. I have been collecting wood for 30 years, and this is a beauty. I doubt you will ever see another, especially at this price. Please check out the other museum quality wood that I have listed. Stay safe and be healthy! The item “MUSEUM GRADE McDermitt round! ALGAETop Shelf” is in sale since Tuesday, August 18, 2020.
