Collector slab of green petrified conifer from Gokwe, Zimbabwe. This specimen is colored green from chromium impurities in the silica that replaced the wood structure. It shows exceptionally well preserved exterior details showing the checked pattern of brown-rot fungus that was decaying the wood prior to petrification.
