A bsolutely beautiful round of petrified elm wood. From the Yakima River canyon in Washington state. The wood that came out of the canyon during the 60’s and 70’s is arguably some of the finest wood of all time when it comes to beauty, preservation, and polish. This piece comes out of one of the finest collections of petrified wood in the Northwest! And he valued it sooo much that he would not sell it! Beautiful browns, and a lot of rings! Perfect, liquid, glassy polish. Preservation is perfect, and is wonderful under the microscope. This is a museum quality gem! 11 inches in diameter, 3/4 thick. Super thick old school slab. I have been collecting wood for 30 years, and this is as good as it gets. The Yakima Canyon is no longer open to collecting. Please check out the other museum quality wood that I have listed.
