Full of character this is a very attractive fossil of petrified wood from Zimbabwe, Africa. The limb has a green cast to it that marks specimens from this area. It looks very much like it was cut from the top of a fence post that was preserved for ground contact. Very much a rock though it has been cut and polished which shows off the well preserved cellular growth structure. A well defined knot highlights the exterior of the piece. 4 x 5 x 3 1/2 inches (10 x 12.5 x 8 cm).
