This listing offering is for an old time digs very well polished large, full round specimen of petrified agatized wood originating from Saddle Mountain in Washington state! I believe the specimen represents the trunk or a major root segment as there are inclusions upon the polished face that appear to be rootlets invading the primary host species (see photos #6 and #9 in the sequence please)! The coloration of this specimen is superb showing the characteristics and colors indicative of the earliest excavations on Saddle Mountain, much earlier than the dendritic picture wood that also is derived from the same locale. The natural termination and exterior bark is intact around the circumference of the well polished fossil wood specimen log! The natural stand up base is terminated without a cut and displays the very well polished face in a stable position at an optimal angle for display too. This awesome display piece weighs approximately 12 pounds and measures 162mm by 135mm by 162mm deep. All photographs were taken while the specimen was dry. Detailed photos depicting the intricate detail and vivid colors were photographed at 2X to 4X.
