It originates from a small deposit near Winslow, Arizona (from the Chinle formation, Triassic era). This wood is approximately 180 million years old, and is extremely rare. This wood has fantastic Deep Mint Green Coloring! So good: The photos were taken DRY! Beautiful green due to the chromium content; the same mineral that gives emeralds their color. This specimen was once part of a Conifer tree (Araucarioxylon arizonicum) which grew to about 150 to 200 feet in height, with the width to about 6 to 8 feet. During the fossilization process, this wood was replaced with the element Chromium. This agatization resulted in a naturally mint green color: Very Eye-Catching!
